It's December 1st and the holidays seem to be in full effect. Radio stations have transformed into 24 hour holiday music annoyance. Retail stores and malls have put up lights, trees and all of their holiday decorations. Everyone seems to be in the holiday spirit, all we lack is the snow.
One of the reasons my wife and I decided to move to the Shops at Don Mills was because the community was full of activities, festivals and markets. CF Shops has a great community feel and they try to include everyone. I must say for a retail mall they host some pretty exclusive events such as the Toronto Jazz festival, Toronto Fashion Week, and one of my favourites the Global News Toy Drive. This year the Toy Drive will start on December 4th, 2015 at 5pm. As always it will be located in the town square with a fabulous christmas tree and festive lighting all around. Both CF Shops and Global News would like everyone to bring a new unopened toy so that less fortunate children have a present to open on Christmas day. This is one of those special times where our community show great support and really come together. CF Shops usually get together with their local shops and merchants and offer each participant coupons and incentives for their stores. A few of my favourites are the free burger at South Street Burger and the free hot chocolate at Aroma. It makes for a great time to spend with friends and family. Please take a moment and come by the CF Shops at Don Mills Friday December 4th between 5-8pm and drop off a new unopened toy for children in need. Come and enjoy all that the Shops has to offer. I will personally be donating again this year in hopes to make many children happy on Christmas day. "Once something is a passion, the motivation is there." - Michael Schumacher Dino.
