What would the world be without marketing? Think about that for a second... A world without any labels, logos, distinction or creative boundaries. Marketing is a wonderful and powerful too. wHEN when used correctly, it can boost emotion, productivity, and desire. Marketing to me is a conversation starter between a group of people. Let's explore my idea a little deeper.
Ferrari has a very distinctive logo, a yellow shield proudly displaying a black prancing horse, usually with the letters S F for Scuderia Ferrari. The horse was originally the symbol of Count Francesco Baracca, a legendary "asso" of the Italian air force during World War I. Francesco would paint this logo on the side of his planes during enemy combat. In my opinion, there is no better conversation starter than that. It is rich in history, passion and full of emotion, it truly captures Italian citizens. Over the years and especially over the last few months, I have been fascinated with logos and labels. I like to dig deeper into their meanings and symbolism. Every logo to has a story to tell, it has prestige and mystique. By natural curiosity, logos could have a variety of different meanings to people. I'll use the Ferrari logo for example, to me it means power, determination, and pushing the limits. To my fellow friend Max, it means family, creativeness, and loyalty. That is the beauty of making and producing a lively logo. It's open for interpretation, however, leads to the same point, excellence. I have been designing my logo for some time now. I have decided to make one dominant logo, which will be for Ask for Dino, and two or three subsequent logos for my subsidiaries which will branch out from Ask for Dino. I too, will have a similar story to tell about how and why I came up with my logo. It will be the start of something great, something exquisite. There are somethings in this world that just aren't meant to be. Like the 2008 Formula 1 World Championship that went down to the last corner of Brazil before Lewis Hamilton stole the crown away from Ferraris' Felipe Massa. How Fernando Alonso never won a championship with Ferrari in his five years with the team. How no man will win an argument with any woman, even if he said he did, he didn't!
Having said the above comments, it should be stated, that one should never give up. You should always apply yourself no matter what the situation. If the task at hand seems impossible, unattainable or just unbearable you should always push harder. Nothing in life is easy, nothing in life goes as planned and nothing in life plays out as you thought it would. I've been lucky enough to have been selected to represent a group of people back in 2014. I knew the task at hand wasn't going to be easy. Like a politician, I set out my plan and goals, and received the 2nd highest amount of votes. Along with myself and two others the Board was selected to represent this group of people. For over two years I battled my colleagues and superiors to implement change and establish a firm foundation for the years to come. I set out with my vision and amended it along the way when needed. It wasn't till a month ago that I realized that my job here was nearing an end. My vision was becoming to radical and to invasive for my colleagues to fully grasp. Although I knew my plan would work, and was the right path for everyone involved, I needed to step away. I made the difficult but logical choice to quit while I was ahead. I knew that it was my time to leave. I was so immersed in the planning process that everyone up to this point understood my reasons. I know that I did all I could for this group of people. I fought every battle, planned for every meeting, and executed every task that needed to be done. Nothing was left unturned and my colleagues knew were I stood on every topic. Today I leave this group of people with a little bit of me. As many of them are aware, I poured my heart and soul into this. I am proud to say although my tenure was short, I fulfilled many of my goals. I know that my legacy will always live on and that my two colleagues will continue to strive for what I believe in. I will forever miss my duties, my role, and most of all the cause (the people). "Dreams keep men alive." - Enzo Ferrari Dino - 31 |
